Inquire
To receive more information about The Regis School by mail, please fill out the inquiry form. Once your inquiry is received by the Admission Office, you will receive a confirmation email stating that your packet is on the way.
Tour
I invite you to meet with the Director of Admission and take a tour of the campus. No amount of printed or electronic material can truly take the place of a campus visit. Aside from seeing the boys in action, a tour offers you the opportunity to meet the people who make The Regis School such an amazing place. Please call (713) 682-8383 or email the Director to set up one of these opportunities.
Apply
You have taken a tour of Regis and now you are ready for your son to apply. The Regis School application is online for your convenience. The application deadline for the 2012-2013 school year is February 1. There is a non-refundable $100 application fee for each submission. Once you submit your son’s application, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not, please call the Admission Office at 713-682-8383.
Teacher Recommendation Form and Release of Records Form
A completed Teacher Recommendation Form is required for all applicants currently attending a school or preschool. In addition, applicants for grades 1 through 8 should complete the Release of Records Form to be given to your son’s current school. These forms can be downloaded once you are logged into the online application.
Testing
All applicants are required to do admission testing after they complete their application.
- Our youngest applicants to 3 Pre-K and 4 Pre-K are given the Gesell Developmental Observation. This is done one on one by appointment.
- Kindergarten applicants are given the Missouri KIDS (Kindergarten Inventory of Developmental Skills). This test is also done one on one by appointment.
- Applicants to 1st through 4th grade are given the Stanford Achievement Test. This is administered in a group setting on a Saturday in early Spring.
- Applicants to 5th through 8th grade are required to take the ISEE (Independent Schools Entrance Exam). The test is held at various dates and locations.
- All boys applying to 2nd through 8th grade are also required to take the OLSAT (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test).
Student Visit
Students applying for Kindergarten through 8th grade are required to visit our school, which gives your son an opportunity to experience our community. Applicants will be given a “Regis Buddy” to help him maneuver through his day. This visit also gives Regis the opportunity to meet your son and to get to know him in a school setting.
Admission to Regis
The Regis School seeks applicants who are able to succeed in our accelerated academic program and who will be able to contribute to the school and our community in a positive way. After the application file is complete the Admission Committee meets and reviews the applicant. You will be notified by mail of the final decision.
A student must be three years old by September 1 of the year he is applying for 3 Pre-K; he must be four years old by September 1 of the year he is applying for 4 Pre-K.
Nondiscriminatory Policy
The Regis School strives for a rich and diverse student body, and recognizes the value of such an educational community. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion or national/ethnic origin in the administration of our educational policies, admission, financial aid, athletic and other school-administered programs. Admission to any grade is “need blind,” without regard for a family’s ability to pay full tuition.
