At Regis, physical fitness and learning to work together as a team are important elements in the development of boys. After school athletics are offered to all 4 Pre-K through eighth grade students. Parent-coached soccer, flag football, basketball and baseball competitive teams are offered for 4 Pre-K through fourth grade students. Middle school sports are coached by Regis physical education staff or outsourced coaches.

Sixth through eighth grade students choose a book each month to read.  The boys read the book and then meet to discuss it. At each meeting, there are snacks and game about the book to go with our discussion of it. Then they choose the book they want to read for the next month.

Ms. Christine Broadston and Ms. Pam Weikel have partnered together to help your son prepare to take the ISEE entrance exam for high school. This ISEE prep program is OPTIONAL; it is not part of the 8th grade Regis curriculum. Ms. Weikel and Ms. Broadston have assigned a cost to the program highly competitive to similar programs in the area. Their passion and desire to dedicate their personal time for your student to succeed outweighs that of other “test companies”; not to mention the relationships they already have with your student. They understand the importance of your student’s success and they are dedicated to working with your son outside of school hours.

From the mists of yesteryear ride the Knights of the Mightier Pen!

The Knights of the Mightier Pen offer Regis boys with periodic writing challenges called Gauntlets. Those daring enough to pick up the Gauntlet write their responses, which are emailed to Mr. Chance at mchance@theregisschool.org.

Those who meet the challenge shall have their writing featured on the Knights of the Mightier Pen site. They also enter the Hall of Heroes, joining the ranks of those boys who faced last year’s Gauntlets.

Ludi Fabularam is a story game that works sort of like improvisational theater, but there's no stage or audience. Each student creates a character who is part of a group with a common goal. The characters are presented with a setting and conflict and the students decide what their characters try to do, and the rules of the game help us figure out what happens next.

There are two Ludi Fabularum groups: The Defenders and The Protectors. Each group is limited to six students Anyone interested in playing needs the following:
1. An imagination.
2. The ability to follow instructions.
3. At least ten standard six-sided dice.
4. Pencil and paper.

Like Math? Join the Regis Math Team! The team practices advanced math skills to compete in math competitions locally and on the national level. Some of the competitions include the St. Agnes Academy Math Competition, AMC 8, MathCounts, and Math Olympiad.

Enhance your son’s Spanish by reading books, writing compositions, speaking about a variety of topics, learning culture and acting out some plays and other fun activities.

Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in Speech & Debate, allowing them to work on the basics of effective argument and public speaking, and compete with each other in a variety of debate styles throughout the year.

Middle school students may participate in Student Council in order to understand the process of governance and to hone leadership skills. At the beginning of the school year, each homeroom elects a representative. The middle school student body elects officers from seventh and eighth grade candidates the previous spring. Student Council meets outside of class time, often during lunch, to organize social events and service and social awareness opportunities. The Student Council is mentored by middle school teachers.

Seventh and eighth grade students have the opportunity to participate in Yearbook, allowing them to assist in developing this annual publication. Students will help decide the yearbook theme, learn how to use a DSLR camera and take photos, experiment with graphic design, select images for the publication and ultimately work to send the yearbook to print on schedule.
