Regis Teacher Wins Crystal Award
With great pleasure, The Regis School of the Sacred Heart announces that Anne-Marie Zehawi, a Regis teacher of 13 years, has been awarded a 2008 Houston Chronicle Crystal Award for Outstanding Teachers. Mrs. Zehawi is one of six chosen by the panel from nearly 1500 nominees for this prestigious award. This year, she is the only winner named from a private school. More than forty letters of nomination were secretly submitted from current students, parents, faculty, administrators and alumni of The Regis School.
A consummate professional educator with a zesty French personality, Mrs. Zehawi is a demanding, challenging, and caring teacher rolled into one tiny dynamic package. Using every tool in her arsenal of knowledge, she is able to assess what boys need to learn and when. Her instructional lessons are tailored specifically to meet boys’ learning styles.
A team player, she readily praises her colleagues and gives them credit for coming up with innovative ideas. Mrs. Zehawi always goes that extra mile for her students and her school. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is fair and respectful to all, making her an excellent role model for our young men. Her dedication to and passion for excellence make her legendary. These remarks all translate into Regis boys receiving an excellent education beyond expectations from outstanding faculty such as Mrs. Zehawi.
