Operation Rice Bowl at Regis

Scholars of The Regis School showed solidarity with their brothers and sisters overseas on Ash Wednesday, February 6, by participating in Operation Rice Bowl. The Rice Bowl project is a Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services. Students participating in the project did not eat or drink anything other than water and rice for the day, simulating the hunger experienced by people in this year’s featured countries: Guatemala, Mali, India, Haiti and Cameroon. Operation Rice Bowl strives, above all, to compel families and communities to pray, fast, learn and give. Auxiliary Bishop Joe S. Vasquez celebrated Mass at Regis on Ash Wednesday and highlighted the need to help those less fortunate around the world.
