Summer Camp Content Specialist
The Summer Camp Content Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities for students from Pre-K3 to Eighth grade in one of the content areas listed below. The Specialist will rotate through different grade levels, facilitating fun and enriching experiences that align with the weekly camp theme. Each cohort will be accompanied by two camp counselors to assist with managing behavior and maintaining engagement throughout the day. Flexibility and creativity are essential for meeting the diverse needs of all age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative, theme-based lessons in your assigned content area (Art, Music, P.E., MakerSpace, or Mystery Class) for students ranging from Pre-K3 to Eighth Grade.
- Collaborate with other specialists to ensure activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and align with camp themes.
- Supervise and manage student behavior with the assistance of camp counselors during class rotations, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Participate in up to two duties: a.m. or p.m. carpool, recess, or lunch.
Qualifications:
- Teaching Certification or Equivalent Experience: We welcome certified teachers as well as those with substantial experience leading summer camps or similar programs.
- Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in the content area (Art, Music, P.E., MakerSpace, or thematic programming) is required. This could include formal teaching experience, camp facilitation, or other relevant roles.
- Strong Classroom Management Skills: Ability to engage and manage groups of students from PreK-3 to Eighth Grade, adapting activities to be age-appropriate and engaging.
- Creativity and Flexibility: Capable of designing activities that align with weekly themes, engaging students in hands-on, interactive learning.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Able to work collaboratively with other camp staff, including counselors, coordinators, and the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

Content Specialists
Art
The Art Content Specialist will design and lead creative, hands-on art activities for students in grades Pre-K 3 through eight, aligned with the weekly camp theme.
Music
The Music Content Specialist will develop engaging, theme-based music activities that allow students from Pre-K3 to eighth grade to explore rhythm, melody, and musical expression. Activities may include singing, movement, instrument play, and basic music concepts, adapted to each age group.
P.E.
The P.E. Content Specialist is responsible for creating fun, active, and safe physical activities that get students moving and enjoying sports or fitness. Activities should align with the weekly theme and cater to a range of ages from Pre-K3 to Eighth Grade.
MakerSpace
The MakerSpace Content Specialist will design hands-on, creative, and STEM-related activities that encourage students from Pre-K3 to Eighth Grade to explore problem-solving, building, and design.
Mystery Class
The Mystery Class Content Specialist has the unique opportunity to design a class based on their own expertise and the weekly camp theme, with flexibility to explore a variety of topics. The Mystery Class can include anything from cooking, science experiments, and storytelling to creative writing, nature studies, or drama. This position allows for creativity and flexibility, ideal for someone who enjoys designing dynamic, multi-disciplinary experiences that captivate and engage students across all age groups.
Summer Camp Early Childhood Specialist
The Summer Camp Early Childhood Specialist is responsible for creating a nurturing, structured, and fun environment for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 campers. Each cohort will be accompanied by two camp counselors to assist with managing behavior and maintaining engagement. The Specialist will lead a group of young children through daily activities, including one content class rotation per day. The camp counselors will ensure a safe transition from the classroom to the content specialist.

Summer Camp Counselor
The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for supervising and guiding a cohort of students throughout the day, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement. As a key support to the camp’s structure, counselors will accompany their assigned group to all activities, including class transitions, recess, and lunch. This role requires patience, a love for working with children, and a positive attitude. Camp Counselors must be flexible and willing to work in various environments, including outside in the summer heat. The role provides an excellent opportunity for college students or high school juniors and seniors, assistant teachers, and adults looking to gain experience working with children.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Student Cohort: Accompany a cohort through all daily activities, ensuring safe transitions between classes, recess, and lunch.
- Ensure Safety During Recess: Monitor and actively engage with children during recess and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, especially in the summer heat.
- Monitor Lunch Behavior: Eat lunch with your cohort, ensuring students are safe, well-behaved, and have their needs met.
- Build Relationships with Students: Foster positive relationships with students, helping them feel supported, engaged, and safe throughout the day.
- Carpool Support: Participate in either a.m. or p.m. carpool duty, ensuring students are safely escorted during arrival and dismissal.
- Manage Minor Conflicts: Address minor behavioral issues within the cohort and use problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts. Escalate larger concerns to camp specialists or leadership when necessary.
- Engage with Parents: Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with parents during drop-off and pick-up, relaying any necessary information or addressing concerns.
- Attend Training: Participate in a pre-camp orientation to learn about the daily schedule, safety procedures, and role expectations.
Qualifications:
- Experience Working with Children: Previous experience in a camp, school, or childcare setting is preferred, but a strong interest in working with children is essential.

Camp Coordinator
Job Description: The Summer Camp Coordinator is a vital part of our summer camp team, providing support and ensuring smooth operations for campers, parents, and staff. Reporting to the Director of Auxiliary Programs, the Coordinator will help oversee daily camp logistics, including carpool, communication, transitions, and scheduling. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to engage with various groups, from camp counselors and specialists to parents and security personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Support Daily Operations: Assist with morning and afternoon carpool, ensuring a safe and efficient process for campers’ arrival and departure.
- Coordinate Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, staff, and counselors, handling inquiries, phone calls, and any concerns that arise.
- Facilitate Smooth Transitions: Work with camp counselors, specialists, and security to ensure schedules are followed, transitions are seamless, and activities run on time.
- Manage Rosters and Schedules: Maintain up-to-date rosters and coordinate with counselors to ensure students are accounted for and groups are properly managed.
- Assist with Problem-Solving: Address issues promptly, whether they involve campers, staff, or logistics, maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
- Provide On-the-Go Support: Be ready to step in where needed to ensure all areas of camp are running smoothly.

Camp Nurse
Job Description: The Summer Camp Nurse is responsible for providing medical care and support to campers and staff throughout the summer camp program. This role involves responding to health-related needs, managing medication distribution, handling minor injuries, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. The Camp Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of all participants and is an essential part of the camp’s daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Medical Care: Attend to minor injuries, illnesses, and other health-related issues for campers and staff, administering first aid as needed.
- Manage Medications: Oversee the administration of medications, ensuring accurate records and safe distribution for campers with specific medical needs.
- Monitor Health and Safety: Conduct routine health checks, observe campers for signs of illness or injury, and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain Health Records: Keep accurate and confidential records of all medical interactions, treatments, and incidents.
Qualifications for Summer Camp Nurse
- Current Nursing License: Must hold a valid and current nursing license (RN or LVN).
- Experience with Pediatric or Camp Settings: Previous experience working with children, ideally in a camp, school, or pediatric setting, is preferred.
- Strong Assessment and First Aid Skills: Ability to quickly assess and respond to minor injuries, illnesses, and other health concerns.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in maintaining accurate health records, medication logs, and incident reports.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly with parents, staff, and campers, providing reassurance and guidance as needed.
- Dependable and Flexible: Reliable with the ability to adjust to the varied pace and demands of a camp setting, supporting the well-being of all campers.
