COVID-19 Closure

The Regis School of the Sacred Heart will be closed to students Friday, March 13, March 16-20 for Spring Break, and March 23 – May 1, 2020. Starting on Monday, March 23, 2020 students will begin remote learning from home through May 1. Regis plans to reopen on Monday, May 4, but the school will reassess if a change needs to be made. Please visit our Coronavirus webpage for updates and information on school plans as they relate to COVID-19.

Please remember, even though our campus is closed, school is still in session!

Key Terms for Remote Learning

Asynchronous

Class interactions happen via Learning Management System (Class Pages) without real-time interaction. Students engage in class materials and complete work at their own pace, typically within a given timeframe, often using discussion boards to drive peer-to-peer engagement.

Synchronous

Class interactions happen in real time, at the same time. Students may virtually attend class together via video conference, livestream or chat.

Screencast

A digital video recording of the teacher's computer screen, usually including audio narration. Screencasts are a form of instructional video. Teachers will utilize Screencastify or Zoom.

Video Conference

A virtual meeting in which participants in different locations are able to communicate with each other with audio and video. Teachers will utilize Zoom or Microsoft Teams for this function.
