Health & Wellness

A group of young boys in school uniforms run across a grassy field with a building in the background.

Regis is deeply committed to fostering the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of our community.

We understand the importance of supporting and guiding the health, social, and emotional lives of boys.

The Health & Wellness Departments work collaboratively to uphold the values and morals in alignment with the Five Goals of Sacred Heart education and The Regis Experience.

Health Clinic

Regis has a registered nurse that staffs the school clinic. The school nurse, faculty and staff are trained in First Aid, CPR and AED use.  The nurse provides care and education to the students, faculty, staff and parents regarding health and safety.  The nurse is responsible for maintaining immunization records, performing health screenings, providing care for injuries and illness, assisting parents and children coping with chronic illness, administering medications as needed and tracking infectious outbreaks.

Our goal is for students to be able to maximize their time in school in a safe and healthy manner.  Regis has adopted Magnus Health System for managing all our health records.

Counseling

The counseling program supports students and their families by serving as an advocate, trusted listener, and liaison between home and school. Through a comprehensive character education and social-emotional learning program from Pre-K3 through Eighth Grade, students develop essential life skills rooted in the Five Goals of Sacred Heart Education, including empathy, leadership, resilience, mindfulness, wise decision-making, and time management. Parents and students are encouraged to contact the counseling department by phone or email to schedule an appointment whenever support is needed.

FLIK Dining

The Regis School of the Sacred Heart partners with FLIK Independent School Dining, a full-service food catering company. The on-site chef creates menus with local/regional flavors and ingredients with the support of registered dietitians. Every plate is nutritionally balanced and delicious! Lunch is included in tuition.

Learning Enrichment & Support

The learning enrichment and support team collaborates with parents, faculty, and psychologists to create and administer individual plans that promote academic competence, self-awareness, self-regulation, and executive functioning skills. Regis is committed to full partnership with families and clinicians to ensure students’ needs are met.

Physical Wellness

All students at Regis have many opportunities to move their body and regulate energy. The boys have multiple breaks, recess, and P.E. class incorporated into their daily schedule. Movement is not confined only to the outdoors. The boys are encouraged to move within the classroom as an aid to their learning experience. Classroom instruction is designed for this freedom of movement, whether it be working in small groups, rearranging classroom furniture to best suit the lesson at hand or participating in lessons while sitting on the floor. Additionally, we offer opportunities for all students (Pre-K3 through Eighth Grade) participate and excel as athletes.

Spiritual Wellness

Regis has a Chaplain present on campus on a weekly basis to enrich spiritual life both in and out of the classroom for our students. Guidance and mentorship is provided to the boys through guest teaching in religion classes, guiding student groups visiting the Chapel in prayer or hosting smaller Masses for various classes and grade levels, being available to hear confessions, and offering resources for parents seeking ways to deepen their sons’ spirituality. Additionally, each morning, our students join for morning prayer assembly and observe a moment of espacio (or space).
