Two Regis middle school students have placed in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston 2020 Poetry Fest. Andrew Summerville and Dominic Hurd, both 6th grade, will join students from across the city on April 30, 2020 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School to read their winning poetry submissions, and the rankings of the winners will be revealed at this celebration.
This year, the topic fo the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Poetry Fest was the Beatitudes. Students wrote about an aspect of the Beatitudes and chose to write their poems in either Western or Eastern form. The judges for the Poetry Fest were award winning poets, and a student poet-laureate will be chosen from those winners who will read their poems on April 30.
